AJ JAYWAR â€‹

"There is a connection which is beyond myself. It isn't rational, it isn't linear, it isn't a direct win/lose orientation. It occurs on stage. Where the audience bears witness to a vulnerability that's able to transform their inner worlds, for reasons for which reason can not understand. The beauty of this, encompasses the essence of great story telling and my responsibility as an actor. In the moment we feel we are not alone resides my dharma, to experience the expression of something bigger than myself."

AJ Jaywar is the founder of The New Drama Company and graduate from The New School of Drama. Having attended Concordia University and Ryerson University before being mentored by Tony Pearce and Louise Nolan.  AJ has appeared in numerous theatre productions within Toronto and Montreal, including "Shakespeare's Twelfth Night", Summer Works' "Wireless Waltz" and Casa Loma's "Dracula". AJ has been teaching for Ryerson University Campus Theatre while continuing to work as an actor in film and television productions such as "The Boy Who Smells Like Fish" and "Lost Girl".

LUKE SLADE

"Imagine there's a stove and it's hot, most people don't want to put their hand on that stove. In life most people are afraid to go to those certain places inside of themselves. It's uncomfortable, you burn yourself. You don't want to get hurt but it's your job to go to that inner place you normally fight not to go to. Dustin Hoffman once said, "In acting you try to admit to more than the lesser crime. You want to get down to the deeper crimes of yourself." That speaks to me."

Luke Slade is an actor who relentlessly focuses on the human quality in his work. A graduate from the New School of Drama with a strict concentration in the Meisner Technique, under the care of Tony Pearce and Louise Nolan. Having appeared in numerous theatre, musical-theatre and film productions . Luke has earned respectable recognition within Toronto's theatre community, with memorable roles as Tom in "The Glass Menagerie", Ethan in "The Full Monty", Tobias Ragg in "Sweeney Todd", Jimmy in "The Rainmaker",  and Freddie in "My Fair Lady". Luke continues to dedicate himself to clarity and honesty in the belief of simplicity in acting.

JAMIESON CHILD

"There are certain roots within my framework that cannot be cut and ignored. Acting is one of these. I’ll say performing. I’d rather say performing, but I don’t consider myelf a performer. I’m an actor and creative writer. I make my living acting and I live to act. My action in my waking life is infused with habits I learn for the stage and screen. The two are symbiotic and thrive off each other. Combining my skills with other artists energies in a setting where we can play by exploring deeper connections of our humanness and comedy is the essence of why I’m here. Have no regrets."
